Do you think that soldiers and marines will be replaced with combat robots in the near future?

I read an article on the NY Times about how robots could one day replace humans on the battlefield and that they are already using these robots in afghanistan and korea for certain missions. Is this the direction the military is going? I love technology alot but this just seems kind of lazy to me,what would be the point for soldiers or marines to train if all they do is operate a joy stick and command a robot. I know there is probaly more to it but it just seems sort of sinister to me and I do not think that it will be accepted due to the fact that the military employs alot of people and If they are replaced I believe that there would be a backlash. So what do you think? I would love to hear from someone who is a service member or anyone who knows about this topic, thank you!
