Why is it so difficult for some to understand that cool temps here can be offset elsewhere?

Cool and hot temperatures occur in parts of the planet. They have always occurred and always will, at least in the few million years that matter. Too many people, particularly alarmists, use weather events as evidence of global temperature changes. For me, long term trends are upward and have been for the last few hundred years much to our great fortune. Australia is having a warm winters. Warm winters are generally a good thing. Cold winters are generally bad. Droughts are cyclical and have always occurred. I hope they get some needed rain but Aussies live in a dry place.
